What will I do as a Trade Compliance and FTZ Coordinator?

  • Verify and receive products into the Foreign Trade Zone in a timely manner, adhering to U.S. Customs regulations.
  • Verify and record the removal of products from the zone in compliance with U.S. Customs rules, and submit duty liability payments to U.S. Customs.
  • Prepare documentation for withdrawals from the zone that are exported duty-free.
  • Prepare and submit weekly estimates to U.S. Customs.
  • Reconcile completed shipping manifests, ensuring all items and quantities recorded in the ERP system align with entries in the FTZ software.
  • Prepare and update the duty-deferred schedule and other duty related financial reports required for month-end close.
  • Ensure all documents received from vendors align with the shipping documents provided by forwarders or steamship lines.
  • Verify that the contents of the manifest file are complete and include all documentation required by the U.S. Customs A1A checklist.
  • Review and update HTS Codes as needed.
  • Assist with export related questions as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

What are the qualifications and skills?

  • Associate’s degree in International Business, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with general import concepts/procedures is preferred. Prior experience working in a logistics/shipping role is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to sit and enter/analyze data for extended periods of time. (Intermediate level proficiency required)
  • Subject to a US Customs background check.
