Job description

Position Summary

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for developing new business while maintaining and growing existing customer relationships within an assigned territory. This position serves as a trusted advisor to restaurants, healthcare facilities, schools, hotels, and other foodservice operations by providing solutions for commercial kitchen equipment, smallwares, furniture, tabletop, and supply needs.

Success in this role requires strong relationship-building skills, consultative selling, and the ability to identify opportunities that increase customer profitability while achieving company sales goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and cold calling.
  • Manage and grow an assigned customer portfolio by providing exceptional service and ongoing account support.
  • Conduct regular in-person customer visits to identify operational needs and recommend equipment and supply solutions.
  • Prepare quotations, equipment proposals, and project estimates.
  • Collaborate with design, project management, customer service, purchasing, and installation teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Negotiate pricing and close sales while maintaining company margin objectives.
  • Stay informed on new products, equipment technologies, and industry trends.
  • Maintain accurate customer records, sales activities, and opportunities within the CRM system.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in trade shows, networking events, and industry functions to generate new business.
  • Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
  • Travel throughout the assigned territory on a regular basis.

QualificationsRequired

  • 3+ years of outside sales experience.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software.

Preferred

  • Experience selling commercial foodservice equipment, restaurant supplies, or related products.
  • Knowledge of commercial kitchen operations and equipment applications.
  • Experience working with independent restaurants, chain accounts, healthcare, education, hospitality, or institutional foodservice customers.
