Job description

At 1440 Foods, we're on a mission to energize people to unleash their full potential with a portfolio of great-tasting, high-protein snacks and supplements. Our brands Pure Protein, Body Fortress, MET-Rx, and FITCrunch make better nutrition accessible, enjoyable, and part of an active lifestyle.

As a fast-growing sports and active nutrition company, we are shaping the future of health and wellness in CPG. If you're looking to make a big impact in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment, we'd love to have you on board!

Position Overview:

1440 Foods is looking for a motivated, curious Supply Chain intern to join our team for the summer. This is a hands-on role where you will work alongside planners, R&D scientists, sales managers, and manufacturing site leaders on real supply chain challenges not busy work.

You will rotate across supply chain functions, contribute to active projects, and gain practical exposure to how a food and nutrition company manages product from ingredient sourcing through to customer delivery. This is a project-based internship you will own deliverables, present findings, and see your work used by the teams you support.

If you are someone who enjoys organizing complex information, asking why does this work this way, and collaborating across teams, this role is built for you.

Job Responsibilities:
Supply chain planning & operations:

  • Support demand planners in maintaining and improving weekly forecast processes
  • Help document current-state planning workflows and identify opportunities to reduce manual steps
  • Assist in data gathering and cleanup to support supply planning system projects
  • Track open purchase orders, flag exceptions, and coordinate follow-ups with the planning team

Cross-functional collaboration:

  • Join R&D and Supply Chain alignment meetings to understand how new product introductions are planned and staged
  • Work with Sales and Marketing to gather promotional calendars and understand how trade events affect demand signals
  • Participate in weekly S&OP or planning review meetings across departments
  • Support Finance with data pulls and summaries for inventory and supply cost tracking

Manufacturing site coordination:

  • Coordinate with manufacturing site contacts to gather production capacity and scheduling inputs
  • Help compile weekly production performance summaries and flag deviations from plan
  • Support the team in documenting standard operating procedures for site-level planning touchpoints

Projects & analysis:

  • Build or improve Excel/data tools used by the supply chain team for reporting and exception management
  • Conduct benchmarking or research on supply chain planning best practices relevant to current team priorities
  • Contribute to a defined summer project with a presentation to the supply chain leadership team at the end of the internship

Qualifications and Skills:

  • You do not need supply chain experience we will teach you the domain. What matters most is your work ethic, curiosity, and communication style.
  • Currently enrolled as a 1st or 2nd year student at an accredited college or university.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (comfortable with formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables)
  • Clear written and verbal communication you will interact with people at all levels of the organization
  • Organized and self-directed: able to manage your own tasks and deadlines across a hybrid schedule (TuesdayThursday in office, Monday and Friday remote)
  • Comfortable working with data: you like finding patterns, cleaning up information, and making sense of numbers
  • Coursework or interest in supply chain, operations management, business, engineering, or food science a plus
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) a plus
  • Prior internship, part-time work, or project experience in a professional or team environment a plus

The Supply Chain Intern role is scheduled for 20 hours per week at $17.00/hr Tuesday through Thursday in office, Monday and Friday remote.

Why Join Us?

  • Work on real projects that are used by real teams not simulated case studies
  • Exposure to the full supply chain lifecycle in a consumer food and nutrition company
  • Access to leaders and cross-functional partners across R&D, Sales, Finance, and Manufacturing
  • A supportive, learning-focused environment with a dedicated mentor
  • Flexible scheduling designed to work alongside your academic calendar
  • Opportunity to return for future internships or a full-time role upon graduation

If you are a curious, driven student who wants to learn how a high-growth nutrition company runs its supply chain from the inside, we'd love to hear from you.
