Job description


SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Tableau Project Manager to function as a Systems Engineer and Technical Advisor (SETA) in support of a U.S. Government customer in Chantilly, VA. The selected candidate will serve as the Government's trusted technical advisor overseeing the procurement and deployment of a cloud-based enterprise Tableau environment. The candidate will be responsible for understanding and capturing stakeholder needs, converting those needs into actionable requirements and concepts of operations, and establishing Statements of Work (SOWs) on behalf of the Government to drive executable task orders.
The ideal candidate combines strong project management, acquisition support, and stakeholder engagement skills with deep Tableau technical expertise to ensure the enterprise solution meets mission needs effectively and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide:
Stakeholder Engagement and Requirements Definition
  • Independently engage stakeholders across the organization to elicit, capture, and document enterprise requirements, use cases, and operational needs.
  • Translate needs into well-defined technical requirements, concepts of operations (CONOPs), and user stories that accurately reflect mission priorities and operational workflows.
  • Facilitate requirements review sessions and working groups with stakeholders to validate requirements, resolve conflicts, and establish consensus on priorities and delivery sequencing.
  • Maintain a living requirements baseline, tracking requirement evolution and ensuring traceability from stakeholder need through SOW, task order, and delivered solution.
  • Advise the Government on prioritization of requirement evolution, balancing mission impact, technical feasibility, resource constraints, and delivery timelines.

Technical Oversight and Advisory
  • Serve as the Government's Subject Matter Expert (SME) on data visualization and cloud-based analytics platforms, providing authoritative technical guidance on architecture, deployment, and operational best practices.
  • Advise Government stakeholders on technical feasibility, platform architecture, and system modernization efforts to align the enterprise environment with mission objectives and emerging analytics technologies.
  • Perform technical evaluations to verify vendor proposals and delivered solutions comply with form, fit, and function requirements as defined in the SOW.
  • Provide ongoing oversight of vendor implementation activities, ensuring adherence to technical requirements, security guidelines, operational standards, and established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Change Management and Quality Assurance (QA)
  • Provide oversight of the Change Management process, ensuring that vendor implementations meet Government quality standards and do not disrupt critical operations or mission workflows.
  • Review all proposed changes for potential risks or impacts, providing Government stakeholders with recommendations as part of the approval process.
  • Conduct Quality Assurance (QA) assessments of vendor implementations and platform operations, documenting findings per contract requirements and advising the Government on corrective actions.
  • Advise the Government on best courses of action to address product delivery quality issues, including vendor performance deficiencies, technical debt, and gaps between delivered capability and mission requirements.

Documentation, Reporting, and Collaboration
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive program documentation including requirements documents, CONOPs, SOWs, acquisition packages, test and evaluation plans, and project status reports.
  • Produce and present briefings to upper management and Government stakeholders capturing program status, vendor performance, requirement evolution, and recommended courses of action.
  • Proactively collaborate with Government to capture, communicate to stakeholders, and address technical challenges, recommending solutions to enhance platform quality and service delivery.
  • Validate that vendors produce and maintain accurate system documentation, including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, operational support documents, and lifecycle plans.
  • Provide consistent reporting on program performance, delivery milestones, and compliance status to Government leadership and the COTR.

Qualifications
Qualifications:
  • Within a STEM field of study (ref: DHS STEM list):
    • Bachelor's and 5+ years of experience; or
    • Master's and 3+ years of experience; or
  • 10+ years of associated professional experience accompanied with relevant certification(s) may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Relevant certifications may include Tableau Certified Data Analyst, PMP, AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, CISSP, or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a SETA or related technical advisory/support role, particularly in government programs.
  • A proactive problem-solving mindset with excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Active TS/SCI with current poly required to start and must be maintained.
