Job description

Job Title:      Product Costing Engineer

Location:      Suwanee, GA

Salary:      $63,654 to $70,000. Monday through Friday, 8.00 am to 5.00 pm.

Job Description:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate special quotations for custom HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) products, including Grilles, Registers, and Diffusers (GRD), and Displacement Ventilation units.
  • Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to ensure pricing aligns with design feasibility and production capabilities.
  • Leverage Syteline ERP and FRED systems to support accurate costing and streamline quotation workflows.
  • Create custom submittal drawings using CAD software for specialized HVAC components such as custom airflow configurations, wire guards, plenums, and oversized grilles.
  • Ensure all drawings meet company standards and customer specifications.
  • Participate in design reviews and incorporate engineering feedback to ensure compliance with performance and safety standards.
  • Use Syteline ERP and FRED systems to track design revisions and maintain alignment with engineering and production requirements.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for customer inquiries related to custom HVAC product designs.
  • Troubleshoot design-related issues and ensure timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
  • Interpret customer specifications and translate them into actionable design requirements.
  • Work under the supervision of a licensed engineer who reviews and approves all custom designs and submittals.

Qualifications:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in electronics engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a closely related field of study plus 1 year of experience as Product Costing Engineer, Cost Estimator, or related occupation, which experience shall include each of the following:
  • Working in estimation and cost analysis within an HVAC manufacturing business;
  • Utilizing CAD software, such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or SolidEdge;
  • Product costing projects, including quotation preparation, customer interactions, product design, manufacturing coordination, and compliance review;
  • Using Syteline ERP and FRED systems for product configuration, costing, and workflow management;
  • Developing new products, including coordination of production schedules, engineering specifications, and process flows to support manufacturing activities; and,
  • Ensuring quality control, resolving production issues, and implementing cost-saving measures.
