A systems integrator is an engineer tasked with building computing systems for a client, working with software, hardware, and various storage products. As a systems integrator, you primarily combine subsystems into one integrated solution and perform job duties such as purchasing subsystems from different contracted vendors, assessing information technology (IT) system requirements, creating an integration plan or solution, and building a personalized application or architecture to meet client needs. Systems integrators need IT, software development, and problem-solving skills. Qualifications for this career include at least a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering, or a related field as well as experience with integrating technologies.
