Job Description: API Integration Analyst

The API Integration will work closely with project teams, business stakeholders, Enterprise Architecture, external vendors, and MuleSoft developers to understand business requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications for API-led solutions. This role will support design discussions, document requirements, map business needs to technical designs, and help ensure that delivered API solutions align with Enterprise Architecture standards and business expectations.

The ideal candidate has experience working with both technical and non-technical teams, understands API concepts including REST and SOAP services, and can support solution delivery from requirements gathering through testing and user support. Banking or financial services experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders and project teams to gather, clarify, and document business requirements.
  • Participate in design sessions and working meetings with Enterprise Architecture, external vendors, developers, and business users.
  • Translate business requirements and solution designs into technical specifications that can be used by MuleSoft developers.
  • Support mapping of business requirements to API-led architecture design patterns.
  • Work closely with MuleSoft developers to ensure the solution is built according to the agreed design and requirements.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture to confirm that delivered solutions align with architectural standards and design expectations.
  • Review API designs, data mappings, and integration requirements to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Support testing activities, including test planning, defect review, issue resolution, and validation of delivered functionality.
  • Assist with ongoing user support for implemented APIs and integration solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, including business users, developers, architects, and vendor partners.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's Degree, major in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of relationship management experience selling banking product
  • Proficient in credit underwriting fundamentals and prior credit experience including financial analysis
  • Knowledge of commercial loan products & lending / compliance regulations
  • API knowledge - Understanding of API concepts and API-led architecture
  • Integration experience - Familiarity with REST and SOAP services
  • Technical analysis - Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • Data knowledge - Understanding of SQL and data mapping concepts
  • Communication - Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical resources
  • Collaboration - Experience working with developers, architects, vendors, and business stakeholders
  • Testing support - Ability to support testing, defect resolution, and post-implementation user support

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with MuleSoft or MuleSoft-based integration projects.
  • Banking, financial services, or payments experience.
  • Experience working with Enterprise Architecture teams.
  • Familiarity with integration design, system interfaces, data flows, and API documentation.
  • Experience supporting Agile or project-based delivery teams.
