Job description

Job Description

At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We're turning today's impossible into tomorrow's standard -from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.

Every day, our products move millions of peopleas we aim to makedriving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale..

The Role

Step into the future of automotive engineering with GM's Virtual Design, Development and Validation (VDDV) organization. Our team leads the industry in simulation-driven vehicle development, using advanced virtual methods to accelerate the design, development and validation of automotive braking systems. We're seeking talented, motivated individuals ready to make an immediate impact and help drive this transformation.

The Lead Brake System Simulation Integration Engineer is responsible for supporting the move to virtual engineering by leading the integration of brake system co-simulation packages focused on foundation brake and control calibration. This position is highly technical and collaborative, involving partner teams throughout Virtual Design Development and Validation (VDDV), Vehicle Performance, Validation, Global Vehicle Hardware Engineering and Vehicle Software and Electronics Engineering. The role deals with multiple emerging technologies, and constant pursuit of innovation is key to its success

What You'll Do

In the role you will lead brake system analysis and virtual test activities in support of leading-edge vehicle programs and innovative technology development including but not limited to:

  • Develop high-fidelity virtual models for hydraulic and electric brake systems that couple physical system dynamics, actuator behavior, and embedded control-software execution. Integrate multi-domain models into advanced co-simulation environments to
  • enable cutting-edge software development, calibration, and validation of braking performance and control strategies across EV, PHEV, and ICE platforms.
  • Align software releases, calibration milestones, and vehicle hardware release milestones to ensure the virtual vehicle co-simulation package is consistently up to date.
