The Role
Arlo is standing up a Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) to drive engineering efficiency and
ease of adoption across our 400+ person engineering organization. You will own the CCoE
program and a Systems Engineering team responsible for cloud standards, shared tooling, and
common libraries - making it easier for every team to build and ship reliably.What You'll Do
Cloud Center of Excellence
Define and evolve cloud engineering standards, architectural patterns, and operational
baselines
Drive FinOps practices: cost monitoring, rightsizing, reserved capacity planning, and
budget forecasting
Build and maintain a best-practices knowledge base: design patterns, IaC standards,
common cloud service libraries, and observability playbooks
Evaluate emerging tools and technologies (AI infrastructure, edge compute, etc.) and
translate findings into adoption roadmaps
Run office hours, workshops, and documentation programs to upskill engineers on
cloud-native design - lowering the barrier to doing things the right way
Partner with the SRE organization on post-mortem learnings; translate findings into
updated standards and training
Systems Engineering
Manage and grow a team of DevOps and Systems Engineers; own hiring, performance,
and career development
Own the development, versioning, and lifecycle of common libraries shared across cloud
services
Deliver shared platform tooling and internal developer platform capabilities; partner with
the Engineering Tools team on CI/CD integration
Drive adoption of the Arlo Cloud Platform - cell-based, AZ-bounded architecture and
semver'd operational baselines - through enablement, not mandates
Collaborate with Security and Compliance to embed governance into platform deliveryOrganizational Influence
Serve as the senior technical voice on cloud standards; build trusted relationships with
engineering leads across all teams
Represent the team to executive stakeholders; influence investment decisions with data-
driven insights
What You Bring
Required
8+ years of software or cloud/platform engineering experience, with 3+ years in
engineering management
Deep expertise in AWS (EKS, DynamoDB, RDS, IAM, Cost Explorer) and IaC tooling
(Terraform, CDK, or equivalent)
Experience designing and maintaining shared libraries or platform SDKs consumed by
multiple teams
Demonstrated ability to define and enforce engineering standards across a large, multi-
team organization
FinOps mindset: experience managing and optimizing cloud costs at scale
Strong communicator - able to translate technical topics for both engineers and
executivesNice to Have
Experience building an internal developer platform (IDP) or cell-based / multi-region
architecture
Familiarity with AI/ML infrastructure (Databricks, SageMaker, Bedrock)
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) or FinOps Foundation
(FOCP)
Background in consumer IoT, connected devices, or real-time streaming platforms
What Success Looks Like
90 days: Cloud standards and library gaps audited; CCoE roadmap published; working
relationships established with engineering leads, SRE, and Engineering Tools teams
6 months: Standards and updated libraries adopted across 3+ teams; FinOps savings
realized; training program underway
12 months: CCoE is the go-to for cloud decisions at Arlo; common libraries are
versioned and org-wide; platform tooling measurably reduces time-to-production

The pay range for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries at commencement of employment and is expected to be between USD$200,000 - $270,000/year. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors, including role, job-related knowledge, skills, relevant education and experience.
