The Operations Business Systems Analyst (MES) supports and improves the digital systems used

across PHC's shop-floor operations. This role serves as the primary link between manufacturing

processes, engineering changes, and operational systems, ensuring accurate production data,

reliable system performance, and effective visibility for production teams.

The position works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and IT to maintain

Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), support engineering changes, troubleshoot system

issues, and drive continuous improvement through digitalization and data-driven solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain and update digital work instructions within the MES system.

Coordinate work instruction changes through required approval processes.

Ensure work instructions accurately reflect current production processes and engineering documentation.

Conduct weld design reviews, including joint design, heat input control, material compatibility, and distortion mitigation.

Work Instruction Management

Maintain and update digital work instructions within the MES system.

Data & System Configuration

Maintain MES parameter tables and configuration data used by production systems.

Update Excel-based parameter tables when new parts or product configurations are introduced.

Inspection & Production Support Tools Training & Technical Support 

Provide coaching and skill development to welders and welding operators.

Support welder qualification testing in accordance with AWS guidelines.

Deliver technical training for proper weld techniques, inspection, safety practices, and process control.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field preferred. 

Experience supporting Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) in a production environment.

Experience maintaining work instructions and manufacturing documentation in digital systems. 

Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, identify system improvement opportunities, and drive solutions with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Visual Factory or similar MES platforms in manufacturing environments.

Familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization tools.  

Experience troubleshooting Crystal Reports.

Experience with Python or other scripting languages for automation or development of internal manufacturing tools.

Interest in manufacturing automation and digitalization initiatives.

Core Competencies

Excellent communication skills-able to translate complex welding concepts for cross-functional teams.

Ability to lead technical decisions and build trust with production, quality, and engineering.
