Job description

Lead Systems Engineer

Company:

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B)B-52 Radar Modernization Program is seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Lead Systems Engineer to join the B-52 Radar Modernization Program. The selected candidate will drive engineering excellence on this complex development program in Oklahoma City, OK.

The Radar Modernization program is integrating an AESA radar, large area display, hand-controller, etc. into the B-52 environment with a new development processor, driving modernization across the aircraft.

The team is seeking a highly skilled, motivated team member who will act in the Technical Lead Engineer capacity advising, assisting and checking the engineering team's products.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead systems and multifunctional engineering efforts for the SEIT IPT, ensuring adherence to technical quality standards throughout the product lifecycle

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to define and implement systems engineering processes and best practices

  • Conduct trade studies and risk assessments to inform design decisions and optimize system performance, cost, and schedule

  • Develop and maintain system requirements, interface control documents, and verification and validation plans to ensure compliance with customer specifications and regulatory standards

  • Oversee the integration of hardware and software components in System Integration Labs in Oklahoma City

  • Oversee the verification and test of hardware and software components supporting the modification in San Antonio and ultimately ground and flight test at Edwards Air Force Base.

  • Mentor and provide technical leadership to team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation

  • Prepare and present technical documentation and reports to stakeholders, including program management and engineering leadership

This position will be 100% onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry

  • 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience

  • 3+ years of experience in Systems Engineering on programs in the development phase of lifecycle

  • Proven experience in managing complex engineering projects and leading cross-functional teams

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and strategically

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders

  • Experience in the integration and verfication phase of programs in the aerospace and defense industry

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience verifying and validating complex systems.

  • Experience in labs activities such as Hardware, Software Integration Test.

  • Experience in ground and flight test activities, including data analysis.

  • Experience leading teams to produce quality deliverables on schedle.

  • Experience acting in a Technical Lead Engineer capacity.
