Systems Engineer Location: Cedar Rapids, IA Job ID: #73019 Pay Range: $56-64 AN HOUR 12 Month Contract US Person Required Description of Duties * Collaborate with a cross-functional team of systems, software, integration, and test engineers to develop and deliver avionics system solutions. * Support development, analysis, and refinement of system requirements and interfaces. * Complete assignments involving Design and Requirement Developments activities * On-site execution of requirements-based testing, robustness, and Ad-Hoc testing in a lab environment (schedule flexibility is necessary during formal test phases) * Support requirements development, requirements-based testing execution, test script development, execution of scenario-based, robustness, and unintended function/behavior testing in a lab environment. Flexibility is necessary to maximize test assets utilization. * Be responsible for the troubleshooting and reporting of issues resulting from development cycles; the candidate will be capable of providing internal status as well as directly reporting to the OEMs as necessary. * Test script development and execution * Contribute to verification planning and test development to ensure implementations satisfy system requirements. * Participate in technical reviews of requirements, design artifacts, and test procedures, while incorporating feedback into your own work. * Assist with system integration, troubleshooting, and issue resolution in lab and development environments. Required Qualifications * Experience with one or more of the following tools/languages is a plus: Python, MATLAB/Simulink, Cameo, or similar engineering tools. * Exposure to requirements development, verification, testing, or model-based engineering concepts. * Hands-on experience with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) at the system level is required * Strong understanding of Avionics, aircraft Systems, and Subsystems. Preferred Qualifications * Prior experience with full development cycles, Avionics certification, and a strong understanding of lifecycle activities and deliverables for Avionics programs. * Experience working within regulatory environments, including DO-254, DO-160, DO-178B/C, DO-297, ARP4754A, and FAA/TCCA/EASA standards. * Coursework or project experience related to systems engineering, embedded systems, software development, aerospace, or controls. * Experience working on team-based technical projects, including design reviews, troubleshooting, or test execution.
