Job description

Job Summary

As a Systems Analyst, you will serve as a senior technical resource and a steady, experienced presence on the team. This is not an entry-level position; we are looking for a seasoned professional who has done this work before, brings sound judgment earned over years of hands-on experience, and is looking to put down roots and grow with us over the long term. You will play a pivotal role in analyzing, optimizing, and driving the evolution of our organization's technological systems while contributing to key objectives in partnership with the Director of Application and Service Delivery. We expect you to bring a strongly AI-minded approach to the work, continually looking for practical ways to apply modern AI and automation tools to make our systems and our team more effective. This role requires deep analytical expertise, strong technical acumen, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with peers and stakeholders across the organization.

Core Responsibilities

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

  • Partner closely with the Director of Application and Service Delivery to understand priorities and align your work with team goals and strategic initiatives.
  • Act as a go-to technical resource for team members, providing guidance on complex analytical challenges, architectural decisions, and best practices.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment that encourages knowledge sharing, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Help onboard new team members and facilitate the transfer of institutional knowledge across the team.

Systems Analysis & Solution Design

  • Analyze existing systems, processes, and workflows to identify areas for improvement. Design and champion innovative solutions, including AI-driven and automation-based approaches where they add value, to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to gather and document business requirements. Translate requirements into technical specifications and scalable system designs.
  • Implement and configure software solutions, databases, and integrations in line with established technical standards and best practices.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and oversee thorough testing to ensure the functionality, reliability, and usability of implemented solutions. Identify and address issues or defects.
  • Create and maintain high-quality documentation including system designs, technical specifications, user manuals, and training materials throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage complex, cross-functional projects from initiation to completion. Coordinate with team members and stakeholders to ensure milestones are achieved within scope, budget, and timeline.

Stakeholder Engagement & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide training and advanced support to end-users on implemented systems and processes. Address complex user inquiries and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies, platforms, and best practices in systems analysis and design, with particular attention to advances in AI and automation. Proactively identify and advocate for opportunities to apply these tools to process optimization and system enhancements.
  • Other duties and assignments as required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 5 - 7+ years of progressive, hands-on experience working with information technologies and systems analysis, with a track record of seeing complex initiatives through to completion.
  • A mature, dependable professional who brings stability and follow-through, takes genuine ownership of outcomes, and is looking for a long-term home rather than a short-term stop.
  • Strongly AI-minded. You do not need to be an AI expert, but you should be genuinely curious about AI, comfortable using modern AI tools in your day-to-day work, and quick to spot practical opportunities to apply AI and automation to systems analysis and problem-solving.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide technical guidance and share expertise with peers.
  • Strong computer, hardware, software, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to assess complex business needs and translate them into relevant, scalable solutions.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems maintenance, administration, security principles, and enterprise architecture.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with close attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple competing priorities effectively.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Experience working directly with senior leadership to align technical work with organizational objectives is preferred.

Position Type

  • On-Site
  • May be required to work outside standard hours to oversee upgrades, fixes, and other projects.
