Role Overview

Wellington Management is seeking an experienced Lead Systems Analyst to join the Portfolio Analysis Technology team within the Investment Platform Technology organization. This role sits at the intersection of investment decision-making and technology, partnering closely with portfolio managers, research analysts, product managers, and engineering teams to deliver portfolio analytics capabilities that support how investors analyze portfolios, evaluate risk, and make investment decisions. The Lead Systems Analyst will play a critical role in shaping the evolution of Wellington's portfolio analysis platform. This individual will lead analysis for complex initiatives, translating investor workflows and analytical needs into scalable, high-quality technology solutions that support the firm's global investment platform.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner directly with portfolio managers and research analysts to understand portfolio analytics, risk, performance, and investment decision-making workflows.
  • Lead analysis for portfolio analysis initiatives and platform enhancements, translating complex investor needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead end-to-end analysis for complex initiatives spanning multiple systems, including investment data, analytics, and user experience.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product teams to evaluate solution approaches, tradeoffs, and implementation impacts.
  • Drive alignment across stakeholders by facilitating discussions between investment professionals and technology teams.
  • Support delivery from concept through release, including solution design reviews, testing, and rollout readiness.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance investor workflows, improve analytical capabilities, and increase platform usability and performance based on direct investor feedback.
  • Drive highquality Agile practices, including wellformed epics and user stories, clear acceptance criteria, backlog readiness, and active participation in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Required QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or similar role within complex technology environments.
  • Strong understanding of the asset management industry and portfolio analytics, including concepts such as portfolio risk, performance attribution, portfolio construction, or factor exposures.
  • Exceptional communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage directly with portfolio managers and research analysts to understand complex investment workflows and analytical needs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to structure ambiguity, evaluate tradeoffs, and make clear recommendations.
  • Demonstrated experience leading analysis efforts across cross-functional teams and coordinating requirements across multiple systems.
  • Experience working in Agile or iterative development environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with portfolio managers, research analysts, or investment teams.
  • Experience working on investment analytics platforms supporting portfolio analysis, risk, or performance.
  • Working familiarity with Python, SQL and data analysis tools.
  • Experience with AI-enabled tooling ecosystems (e.g. Copilot) and adoption patterns

The base salary range for this position is:

USD 90,000 - 180,000

This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.

Base salaryis only one component of Wellington's total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
