Job description

We are recruiting for a full-time Boiler Technician Trainee position at INDECK Power Equipment. The Boiler Technician Trainee is responsible for trouble-shooting and repairing Industrial Mechanical Boilers involving physical handling of product, machinery supplies and equipment. If you are mechanically inclined or have past mechanical experience, this is the role for you!
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Have knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Having a working knowledge of steam and hot water boilers, burners (gas, oil & combination), associated controls & electrical circuits, combustion, and associated piping systems is a plus. 
  • Having a background of working on industrial boiler/burner systems is a plus.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Strong ability to problem solve. 
  • Ability to analyze information gathered in order to identify potential problems or discrepancies.
  • Maintain orderly and clean work area in compliance with Company safety requirements.
  • Performs related duties as assigned by supervision. 
  • Computer knowledge preferred.
  • Familiar with instrumentation and controls is a plus.
  • Detailed oriented. 
  • Good with basic math. 
  • Able to work in team environment. 
  • Must be able to speak and understand English.

Physical Demands:
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. 
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and lift up to 50 pounds.

Education/Experience: 
  • High school diploma or equivalent; two more years related experience and/or training.
  • Past experience in HVAC, electrical, a plus.
