The Opportunity:
Photonics Ops South, a CACI company, is looking for a System Test Technician who can independently serve as a skilled technical specialist to test custom photonic, mechanical, and electrical hardware solutions for its production Space flight Optical Inter Satellite Link Terminals. This would also include supporting test engineers in developing improvements of procedures for conducting these tests.
Responsibilities:
  • Perform optical or electrical testing and characterization as specified by work instructions
  • Independently follow test procedures and record detailed test data in travelers and MES
  • Document test failures in the failure reporting system
  • Support the maintenance of cleanroom test equipment and tooling
  • Work is typically performed in a Cleanroom environment which requires proper safety precautions.
  • Work on First Shift

Qualifications:
Required:
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following areas:
  • Experience testing custom, complex electromechanical and optical assemblies.
  • Use of optical sources, power meters, and optical spectrum analyzers to test optical components
  • General understanding of basic electrical and photonic principles
  • Ability to follow detailed work instructions or test procedures

Education:
  • Associate degree in a related technical field is desirable
  • 5 years of related experience is required, or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience

Desired:
  • Microelectronic assembly experience a plus
