Job description

About the Position:

As the Systems Support Specialist, you will provide tier 1 support to the Bankโ€™s operations, with an emphasis on internal customer support. The primary responsibility of your position will be to provide great customer service to the Bankโ€™s local and remote employees with installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of workstations and applications. This is a highly visible position and requires the ability to interact with all levels of the organization.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform hardware and software installation.
  • Identify, recommend, and perform hardware/software upgrades and/or replacement.
  • Perform regular maintenance for workstations, including system configuration updates, firmware updates, and software patching to maintain a cohesive environment.
  • Develop and/or maintain procedures and processes as necessary.
  • Perform and report on software and hardware asset inventory.
  • Provide IT support to internal customers including, but not limited to, support for equipment, connectivity, and business functions.
  • Respond to issues, document corrective actions, and escalate as needed in the Bank's ticket tracking system.
  • Assist with training, deployment, and updates of IT systems.
  • Identify ongoing customer issues and recommended resolutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What Weโ€™re Looking For:

  • A minimum of oneย year of IT Help Desk or related technical support experience is required. In lieu of experience, a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field will be considered.
  • Previous experience connecting PCs to networks including cabling.
  • Previous experience with Windows 11ย in a Windows domain managed environment.
  • Previous experience troubleshooting PC issues in a business environment.
  • Previous experience maintaining OS and Software patches in a Windows domain managed environment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Microsoft desktop operating systems and Office applications.
  • Interpersonal skills to interact positively and effectively with team members and all levels of business users and management.
  • Communication skills to effectively work with non-technical people on technical issues.
  • Initiative and ability to work under limited supervision with attention to detail.
  • Problem resolution skills and ability to follow through the resolution cycle.
  • Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Drive to learn new technologies and skill sets.
  • Experience with deploying and maintaining workstation images desired but not required.
  • Experience with configuration and patch management software desired but not required.
  • Experience with PowerShell or other scripting automation methods desired but not required.

Working Conditions/Demands:

  • Professional office setting.
  • Primarily sedentary position requiring long periods of time working at a computer.
  • Must be able to move throughout the office and buildings to obtain or relay information.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Able to position self to maintain computers or other IT equipment, including under the desks and in the server closet.
  • Frequently moves equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Other common parameters entail climbing stairs, walking, reaching, squatting, crawling, or kneeling.
