Job description

Maintenance Supervisor (Automotive Plant)
What this job involves: Lead facilities team by providing comprehensive building management, supervisory oversight, and emergency response coordination. This role ensures continuous facility operations through effective team leadership, vendor management, budget oversight, and regulatory compliance while maintaining high service standards for building occupants.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Shift Operations Management
  • Review and maintain Manager's Shift Turnover Logbook
  • Conduct daily safe operating tours to ensure proper facility operation
  • Meet with alternate Shift Managers daily to address outstanding issues and upcoming projects
  • Prioritize and distribute Help Desk Work Orders in conjunction with MAXIMO PMs and PMRs
  • Monitor operational budget and assist General Manager in annual budget development
Team Leadership & Supervision
  • Provide supervisory coverage for Housekeeping staff as necessary
  • Supervise outside contractors and vendors for building operational issues
  • Meet with General Manager regarding outstanding issues and provide input on upcoming projects
  • Support team in achieving revenue targets through cost management and controllable expense budgets
  • Provide support for all emergencies and implement comprehensive emergency procedures
  • Ensure government regulatory compliance including EPA/OSHA, safety programs, and CFC handling
  • Maintain current knowledge of critical building systems and emergency protocols
  • Review and close out all MAXIMO WPMs, WPMRs, and Help Desk Work Orders
  • Maintain logbooks with building status, equipment changes, and contractor activities
  • Ensure appropriate inventory levels, especially critical components for system uptime
  • Monitor supply purchases and order through the Indirect Service Provider as necessary
  • Organize and store files, critical documents, and blueprints per company requirements
  • Establish relationships with key facility contacts, keeping them informed of work order status
  • Communicate regularly with building occupants regarding project status and activities
  • Follow up to ensure work completion meets satisfaction and timeline requirements
  • Participate in planning and implementing account or property initiatives
Operational Excellence
  • Ensure shop and work areas are maintained in neat, well-organized fashion
  • Maintain white boards identifying equipment status and current operations
  • Ensure tools are labeled, in good condition, with current inventory tracking
  • Identify hard and soft cost savings opportunities at the site
  • Work with account manager to monitor and control account expenses
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5-7 years industry experience in a supervisory role
  • Strong knowledge of building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Understanding of emergency procedures and regulatory compliance requirements
  • Experience with MAXIMO or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
  • Knowledge of EPA/OSHA regulations and safety programs
Preferred Qualifications:
  • College degree or equivalent work experience in Facilities Management with technical emphasis
  • Facilities management certification (CFM, FMP, SFP)
  • Advanced MAXIMO system experience
  • Project management certification or experience
  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS)
  • Knowledge of energy management and sustainability initiatives
  • Previous experience in critical environment facilities (data centers, manufacturing, plants, laboratories, medical facilities)
  • Additional certifications in HVAC, electrical, or other building systems
