Job description

Propose, analyze, and design systems to solve customer problems in the areas of SIGINT/EW and communications.

Description:

As a Systems Engineer at HTL, you will propose, analyze, and design systems to solve customer problems. You will architect the system as a lead of a cross-disciplinary team of HTL engineers, leveraging technology assets across HTL and our partners when prudent. The products and systems you will be defining are in the EW, SIGINT, geolocation, and communications trade space. As projects transition from design to implementation, responsibilities transition toward a Project engineering role providing leadership in realizing the deliverable product or system solution. You will not only work with interdisciplinary teams including Business Development, Software, DSP, microwave circuits, and hardware engineers but you will also work with customers to realize the systems of tomorrow.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (advanced degrees preferred)
  • communications or SIGINT/EW system experience
  • Up to 10% domestic travel

Preferences:

  • Able to simulate large complex systems and algorithms in Matlab or C
  • Able to derive lower-level requirements from system level requirements
  • Able to derive hardware requirements
  • Able to design and analyze transceivers, oscillators, antennas, power supplies, modems, and algorithms
  • Strong understanding of noise and phase noise and relation to system design and specifications
  • Able to manage time well and take large tasks from start to finish with little oversight
  • Able to be a team player and open minded
  • Proposal or applications engineering experience
  • Software Defined Radio and Antenna Systems experience preferred
  • Top Secret clearance with SSBI/SCI
