Job description

Building Electronic Controls (BEC) is seeking a dedicated, proactive and customer oriented Project Manager to join our operations department at our Glendora office. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Low-Voltage Systems Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial fire alarm systems, with Edwards systems experience being a plus. This role requires a deep understanding of project management within the construction industry. Candidates with backgrounds in manufacturing, software, or other non-construction industries need not apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee low-voltage systems projects, focusing primarily on commercial fire alarm systems.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure project timelines and budgets are met.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all phases.
  • Handle billing and budgeting for projects, maintaining financial oversight.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Interface with AHJ/plancheck approval process through final inspections.
  • Ensure projects are executed efficiently, adhering to high-quality standards.
  • Be available to work flexible hours as required by project demands.
  • Be willing to learn and manage additional systems outside of fire alarms, such as area of refuge, ERRCS, and firefighter surveillance.
  • Utilize MS Teams and MS Office for project management and communication.

Qualifications

  • Experience of 3 years minimum as a project manager of commercial fire alarm system projects.
  • Familiarity with Edwards Fire Alarm Systems is a plus.
  • Programming experience is beneficial but not required.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles within the construction industry.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in billing, budgeting, and financial oversight.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and be available as needed to meet project demands.
  • Ability to learn and manage various low-voltage systems beyond fire alarms.
  • Proficient in MS Teams and MS Office.
