Job Description

We are seeking a Fault Monitoring Architect and Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in IBM Netcool Operations Insight AIOps, SevOne, and large-scale network fault monitoring and a proven ability to architect, deploy, and support high-availability monitoring platforms with automation and governance compliance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Unix OS and hardware across multiple operating systems, including production changes with appropriate stakeholder coordination.
  • Research, design, build, test, and maintain network fault monitoring systems and self-healing automation.
  • Develop test plans, execute tests, and document results in network tools and engineering repositories.
  • Gather and refine requirements with users and stakeholders and deliver working solutions.
  • Certify new product models and versions, ensuring governance approvals and audit readiness for network toolsets.
  • Partner with vendors to enhance tools to meet customer and security requirements; refresh or upgrade tools at EOL/EOS or not-permitted status.
  • Develop integrations across network tools and third-party systems, including APIs, probes, gateways, and data pipelines.
  • Lead disaster recovery exercises and provide break-fix support for network monitoring platforms.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years with IBM Netcool Operations Insight AIOps in high-availability environments, including Omnibus, Impact, Network Manager, Probes, Gateways, and Cognos Analytics.
  • Experience deploying topology manager, runbook automation, and CNEA on Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Hands-on with Syslog, MTTrapd and MessageBus probes, JDBC, and XML gateway; custom probe rules and AOC files; custom network views.
  • Configuration of network discovery across multi-region environments; SevOne discovery, polling policies, and object grouping.
  • Cognos custom report design and development; Netcool Impact custom policies and ObjectServer triggers for third-party integrations.
  • Functional knowledge of network components such as switches, routers, firewalls, proxies, and load balancers, with understanding of interdependencies.
  • Scripting skills in Python, Ansible, Shell, or JavaScript; SDLC and Agile familiarity.
  • Linux/Unix/Windows server administration and working knowledge of Active Directory.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to influence across organizational levels; organized and detail oriented.

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience with SevOne Network Performance Management, including building maps and links.
  • Exposure to tooling from IBM, SevOne, Micro Focus, Splunk, and vendors such as Cisco, Aruba, CloudGenix, and Fortinet.
