OVERVIEW:

The Office of Information Technology provides a full range of enterprise technologies to support the citizens of Maine. This is an exciting position for a qualified individual who has demonstrated experience and has a successful track record in providing support for Azure, AWS and Identity and Access Management, Microsoft 365 services and Windows Server Operating Systems within the Computing Infrastructure and Services Group.MaineIT is seeking a highly talented individual who will represent our C.A.R.E. values in all that they do.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS POSITION:

You will help manage and administer Enterprise Exchange, Active Directory, File System Management, cloud hosting environments and Microsoft 365 as an active contributor to the team. You will work in a team setting handling requests and participating in professional communications as a team player who demonstrates excellent collaboration skills. You will also be able to participate in other areas within overall group.

The position will provide support for the Office of Information Technology and all customers we support. The position performs a full range of system administration functions to control systems and attain maximum utilization and efficiency within Computing Infrastructure Services.

The Team within the Office of Information Technology offers professional and technical hosting and enterprise services to agencies. The Team resides within the Computing Infrastructure & Services Group, which supports a wide range of applications utilizing Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft InTune, Directory Services, Enterprise Backup and Storage, SQL Server, IIS, SharePoint, and other COTS products. Work is performed under supervision. This position is in Augusta. The CIS Group requires 24x7 server support. This requires the position to be On-Call in a rotation format.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

You will be expected to manage your work at a technical level with supervision.

  • Assist in the problem solving and handling of technical issues or inquiries.
  • Maintains group policy objects.
  • Quality Assurance checks on new environments.
  • Handling trouble support tickets.
  • Participate in the planning, implementation, and management of system upgrades to keep up to date and secure.
  • O365 Administration (manage user's properties, manage user's multi factor authentication and user views).
  • Assist with support and administration for cloud environments with a focus on M365 services, Azure, AWS and Identity and Access Management. Demonstrate cloud architectural knowledge, playing a vital role in the support of cloud infrastructures running in 247 environments
  • Provide operational assistance in infrastructure migration methodologies and techniques including mass application movements into the cloud for Azure or AWS environments
  • Nurture cloud computing internally and externally to drive cloud adoption
  • Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to security and compliance best practices
  • Support, build, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments within a VMWare ESXi environment or physical.
  • Participate in the implementation of agency information system policies to meet agency operating standards and procedures.
  • Research, install, and configure hardware, software, and networking for servers within multi-user operating and/or networking system environments.
  • Administer and manage system security measures such as backups, access control, and disaster recovery to ensure and maintain system integrity and availability.
