RPA Systems Integration Engineer

Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) – RPA/UAS Operations Center Hurlburt Field Florida

Position Summary

Leidos is seeking an experienced RPA Systems Integration Engineer to support mission systems, applications, and specialty hardware within the AFSOC RPA/UAS enterprise. This role is responsible for the installation, configuration, administration, and sustainment of complex mission systems that enable MQ‑9 and other UAS operations.

You will integrate new capabilities into multiple IT weapon systems, collaborate with design engineers, and work closely with contract ITSM, Systems Integration, and ISSM personnel to ensure secure, high‑performance mission operations. This position requires deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to operate independently in a dynamic, classified environment.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Integrate new mission systems and capabilities across internal and external functional teams within the AFSOC RPA Operations Center.
  • Apply systems and network analysis techniques to hardware, software, and functional specifications.
  • Design, develop, test, and modify computer systems and programs based on customer or engineering requirements.
  • Support unique, custom‑built systems that evolve continuously to meet mission needs.
  • Operate within a TS/SCI classified environment with limited government or OEM documentation.
  • Collaborate with ITSM, Systems Integration Engineers, and ISSM personnel to tune performance, allocate storage, and implement critical system modifications, upgrades, and patches.
  • Test and resolve endpoint vulnerabilities to ensure compliance with DoD cybersecurity standards.
  • Support facility IT infrastructure modifications as mission systems evolve.
  • Provide occasional shift work to accommodate mission schedules and perform limited travel as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT discipline and 4+ years of related experience (Experience and certifications may be considered in lieu of degree.)
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required.
  • CompTIA Security+ or equivalent DoD 8570.01 certification.
  • Military C5ISR and operational environment experience.
  • Hands‑on expertise with:
    • Windows 11
    • Windows Server 2022/2024
    • RHEL 8.0/9.0
    • VMware
    • Microsoft enterprise products
  • Expertise with Clear‑Com audio systems and Virtual Network Infrastructure (VNI).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within team environments.
  • Strong work ethic, self‑motivation, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Operational experience with GCS and MQ‑9 command and control networks.
  • Experience with Minotaur and CAVOK applications.
  • Experience with model‑based systems engineering (MBSE) tools.
  • Experience with MECM, SCCM, ACAS, Nessus processes and procedures.
  • Experience with virtual desktop brokers (VMware View, Citrix XenDesktop).
  • Experience with XenApp, NetScaler, NetApp technologies.
  • Certifications such as Server+, CITRIX, NetApp, ITIL v4.
  • Experience deploying production virtual environments (thin clients).
  • Experience with Windows software packaging and deployment automation.
  • Prior military or DoD civilian experience supporting Air Operations.
