Job description

Responsibilities
Noblis MSD's mission is to support the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and, Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWCPD) and their missions to enable research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition, engineering, systems integration, in-service and fleet engineering with cybersecurity, comprehensive logistics, and life-cycle savings. Noblis MSD is looking to hire an Computer Controls Automation Systems Engineer for a long-term multi-year contract.
The Computer Controls Automation Systems Engineer will develop, maintain, and troubleshoot facility systems for defense systems. This engineer's responsibilities will include:
  • Perform system update and implement facility design, development, modeling/simulation, and integration for naval facility ashore defense control systems applications in a lab environment.
  • Conduct HMI development for local lab and forward facility systems.
  • Conduct PLC engineering development utilizing Rockwell Studio 5000 and Siemens SIMATIC Step 7 / TIA Portal
  • Develop and deploy industrial application/system user interfaces, resolve system issue with issue register.
  • Develop technical documentation packages.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering with 3 years work experience, or High School diploma with 6 years of experience in industrial engineering.
  • CompTIA Security + Certification (or able to get within 6 months of hire on)
  • Passport Required - Will travel for two weeks at a time, 3 or 4 times a year
  • Basic PLC or Controls experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures with industrial control systems
  • US Citizen and DOD Secret or the ability to obtain a DOD secret security clearance

Desired Qualifications
  • Must have a Sec+
  • PLC for Facility Power Systems or HVAC and Wastewater
  • Experience in developing technical documentation packages

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis' total compensation package.
