Job description

Overview VTG is looking for a System Engineer in Colorado Springs, CO. The Systems Engineer II performs systems engineering tasks with limited supervision, translating mission needs into system requirements and engineering products. Coordinates across stakeholders to maintain technical alignment, supports design trade studies, and ensures requirements are verifiable and traceable through implementation and test. What will you do? * Lead/support requirements development, decomposition, and management; maintain end-to-end traceability from mission needs through verification.
* Develop and maintain systems engineering artifacts (e.g., system specs, interface documentation, architecture views, technical baselines).
* Support integration planning and coordination across engineering disciplines (software, network, cyber, cloud, test).
* Contribute to technical reviews (SRR/PDR/CDR or equivalent), including preparing materials and closing review actions.
* Support verification planning and test readiness activities; ensure requirements are measurable and testable.
* Identify technical risks/issues and propose mitigations; support configuration and change control processes. Do you have what it takes? * TS/SCI with Poly Required
* 3-7+ years of relevant systems engineering experience.
* Demonstrated experience with requirements management and development of engineering documentation.
* Experience working in a structured delivery environment (Agile, iterative, or traditional engineering lifecycles).
* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, IT, Business, or related field
* Preferred Qualifications: Experience with MBSE/SysML and/or architecture frameworks (DoDAF), Familiarity with integration, verification, and configuration management practices, Prior support to U.S. Government programs (DoD/Federal/Civil). This position is contingent upon program award.
