Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled systems engineer to provide SETA (Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance) support for a satellite program office. This position serves as a communications and data visualization specialist within a highly technical program office. The role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including developing and executing outreach strategies, providing technical editing for complex engineering and program documents, and designing compelling data visualizations to represent both business and program information. A key aspect of this role involves translating technical details into clear and understandable communications for diverse audiences, ranging from senior executives with a technical background to generalist audiences that may lack specialized knowledge. The successful candidate will play a vital part in ensuring effective communication and data-driven decision-making within the office.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Outreach: Create and deliver informative and compelling presentations for diverse audiences in support of office priorities. Assist colleagues in preparing presentations using best practices in communication, visualization, and editing.
  • Data Visualization: Create compelling visuals in Tableau to support internal business and programmatic decisions. Translate complex concepts and data into charts, graphs, or illustrations for use in reports, briefings, and dashboards.
  • Technical Editing: Review and edit documentation for accuracy and consistency, often on a short timeline.
  • Configuration Management: Ensure compliance with enterprise standards through oversight of Configuration Management (CM) and Configuration Control procedures.

Required Qualifications:
  • Security Clearance:
    • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
    • Polygraph date within last 7 years
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree with 20+ years of experience, or
    • Master's degree with 10-14 years of experience, or
    • PhD with 8-9 years of experience.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
    • Familiarity with systems engineering concepts and principles.
  • Experience in the following areas:
    • Requirements analysis and tracing.
    • Cost, schedule, and performance trades.
    • Systems integration, IVV&T (Integration, Verification, Validation, and Testing).
    • Risk and opportunity management.
    • User engagement.
    • Configuration Management and Configuration Control.
