At Fairstone we offer a professional internship program to provide on-the-job training and experience to recent graduates. We engage our interns in various work assignments, projects, and activities of varies complexity.

In addition, we have a structure to enable the intern to gain the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities needed to perform at a professional level, typically identified within the program of study.

Our interns will receive training and mentorship to carry out successfully their activities and assignments.

The Opportunity:

The Intern will support day-to-day treasury operations activities, develop financial analysis, prepare dashboards and management reports, and update process documentation while ensuring proper controls. The position is reporting to the Senior Treasury Analyst and located in downtown Montreal.

During your internship you will be responsible to:

  • Support day-to-day treasury operation activities, preparing cash positioning worksheet, explain variance, treasury accounting entries, and initiating payments in online banking systems.
  • Prepare bank fee report.
  • Support administration of authorized signors
  • Perform financial analysis and transaction investigations.
  • Support preparation of presentation and management reporting
  • Work with cross-functional teams to continuously improve processes and controls.
  • Ensure process documentation governing area of responsibility is compliant with all corporate and regulatory policies/standards and provide support for internal controls and audit activities.

You are the right candidate if:

  • You are currently completing your bachelor's degree in finance/Accounting (2nd or 3rd year) or have a technical diploma in administration.
  • You are recognized for being a great team player with a positive attitude who shows passion for quality products and processes delivered on time.
  • You have excellent organizational skills and demonstrate initiative, accountability and strong attention to details and data integrity.
  • You adapt and learn quickly and have strong computer skills (Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Previous experience in treasury management, accounting, banking industry or customer service will be considered an asset.
  • You have excellent written and spoken English and French
