Job Summary:
Lyte is a company that builds perception systems for Physical AI and is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California. They are seeking a hands-on IT Desktop Support Engineer / Systems Administrator to manage and scale their internal IT environment, providing support across various platforms while ensuring the reliability and security of IT systems.
Responsibilities:
• Own Tier 1–3 desktop and end-user support across macOS, Windows, and Linux environments, providing direct, hands-on assistance to users.
• Administer and maintain Linux systems (Ubuntu, Red Hat, or similar), ensuring uptime, performance, and security
• Own Microsoft 365 and Azure AD administration, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Jamf and access controls
• Build and maintain device provisioning and endpoint management workflows for laptops, workstations, and servers
• Implement and manage endpoint security, access controls, and identity management as the company scales
• Automate repetitive IT and systems tasks using Bash, Python, and/or PowerShell
• Partner with engineering and DevOps to support cloud infrastructure (AWS and/or Azure)
• Implement and maintain security controls aligned with SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 requirements
• Establish IT foundations: onboarding/offboarding, asset tracking, documentation, and support processes
• Own and manage the user support ticketing system, driving responsiveness and continuous improvement
• Proactively identify reliability, scalability, and security gaps—and drive pragmatic solutions
Qualifications:
Required:
• 8+ years of experience in IT desktop support and/or Linux systems administration
• Strong hands-on experience administering Linux systems, including user management and system troubleshooting
• Solid experience with Microsoft 365, Azure AD/Entra ID, and Intune administration
• Strong hands-on experience supporting macOS and Windows environments in a professional setting
• Solid experience with device management tools (Intune, Jamf, Apple Business Manager)
• Experience supporting or collaborating on cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Scripting and automation skills using Bash, PowerShell, and/or Python
• Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous startup environment
Preferred:
• Experience in a startup or high-growth technology company
• Familiarity with GitLab, CI/CD pipelines, or version control systems
• Experience supporting compliance efforts (SOC 2 audits, security reviews)
• Background in building IT infrastructure from early-stage to scale
