A Symitar Programmer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and customizing the Symitar Episys core processing system used by credit unions. They write PowerOn scripts, create custom reports, and integrate third-party applications to enhance system functionality. This role requires proficiency in PowerOn programming, Symitar’s proprietary scripting language, and a strong understanding of financial institution operations.
As a Symitar Programmer, you can expect to spend your days developing and maintaining custom PowerOn scripts, troubleshooting system issues, and supporting the integration of third-party applications with the Symitar Episys core system. You’ll often collaborate with credit union staff to understand their operational needs and translate them into technical solutions, as well as respond to user requests for system enhancements or reports. Routine tasks may also include performing software upgrades, conducting code reviews, and documenting changes for compliance and audit purposes. This dynamic role often involves both independent work and teamwork within IT, lending, and operations departments.
To thrive as a Symitar Programmer, you need a solid background in programming (particularly PowerOn), database management, and experience with Symitar’s Episys core processing system, often supported by a degree in computer science or a related field. Familiarity with tools such as PowerOn scripting, Symitar Episys, SQL, and an understanding of credit union operations is highly beneficial. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills help set candidates apart. These qualifications and attributes are crucial to effectively customize and maintain Symitar systems, ensuring reliable financial operations and organizational efficiency.

EECU is seeking an IT Systems Analyst – Lending with proven experience supporting and optimizing technology solutions within lending and financial services environments. This position serves as a key liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring systems effectively support lending operations, business objectives, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include aligning system functionality with business workflows, supporting system upgrades, enhancements, and integrations, and configuring, testing, and implementing technology solutions and updates. The analyst will identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, streamline and automate processes, and enhance system performance and user experience. Additional duties include recommending workflow and technical improvements, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and analyzing system and operational data to support business decisions and reporting needs. Ensuring system stability, security, and data integrity across platforms is essential. Expertise in financial services and lending-related platforms such as Temenos, Symitar, MeridianLink, Clutch, TalkDesk, Synergy, and Vitu is highly desirable.

Responsible for compliance of all Federal and State rules and regulations pertaining but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, Bank Bribery Act, NCUA Privacy Regulations, Reg B, Reg Z, Reg DD, Reg E, Reg CC, Service Members Civil Relief, and FCRA/FACTA. Required to attend initial and ongoing annual Bank Secrecy Act training.
