Job Type: Full-time; Non-Exempt
Compensation: Hourly
Function:
The Quotations Associate supports the preparation of accurate and timely project bids for lighting or switchgear packages. This position works closely with internal sales teams, vendors, and customers to collect information, prepare bills of materials, request vendor pricing, and assemble formal quotations. The role requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset to ensure customer satisfaction and business success.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Review bid packages provided by contractors and identify materials required for quoting.
  • Request vendor quotations from lighting or switchgear manufacturers and agents.
  • Assemble detailed quotations using software such as OASIS or similar quotation platforms.
  • Collaborate with internal sales teams and vendors to maximize profitability and meet customer expectations.
  • Prepare and update bills of material (BOMs) and ensure all components are accurately priced.
  • Assist in negotiating pricing with suppliers to obtain competitive bids.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of bid activity and vendor correspondence.
  • Operate and maintain quotation workflows under the direction of senior team members or a department manager.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, customers, and vendors throughout the bidding process.
  • Ensure deadlines are met by managing project schedules and proactively flagging delays or missing information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the quotations team or sales organization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of electrical construction, components, or drawings (lighting or switchgear experience strongly preferred)
  • Working knowledge of quotation software (OASIS or similar) and business systems (e.g., Solar Eclipse) strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment
  • Comfortable interpreting technical documents such as blueprints, electrical drawings, or specifications

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1+ years of experience in electrical distribution, construction, or quoting environment preferred
  • Trade school or two-year technical degree strongly preferred; four-year college degree is a plus
  • Familiarity with lighting or switchgear products, vendors, and industry practices is strongly preferred
