What does a swimwear designer do?

A typical day for a Swimwear Designer involves sketching new concepts, selecting fabrics and trims, and collaborating with pattern makers and sample makers to develop prototypes. Regular feedback sessions with marketing, production, and merchandising teams ensure that designs meet both creative goals and commercial needs. The fast-paced nature of the fashion industry means multitasking and adapting priorities are common, making each day dynamic and engaging.

To thrive as a Swimwear Designer, you need strong skills in fashion design, textile selection, pattern making, and garment construction, typically backed by a degree in fashion design or a related field.
