The Swamp Rabbit Food Hub is the wholesale arm of the business, a showcase for local farmers and food artisans. We buy from over 300 local producers to provide the community with a convenient and fun connection to those producers. We know every farm and every product has a story and we strive to tell the story while maintaining the high-quality selection and competitive pricing. The Swamp is a fun and fast paced environment focused on serving delicious food with fresh seasonal and local ingredients.


The Swamp works with a range of suppliers, from hundreds of small farmers with pick-up trucks to 18-wheeler distributors. The Warehouse Department is their first interaction with the Swamp, and we treat our vendors and suppliers like family. The Assistant Warehouse Manager is responsible for assisting the Manager in overseeing and directing all logistics relating to the receiving and movement of product to and from our Warehouse. The Warehouse Assistant Manager will assist in improving and maintaining various systems and best practices designed to ensure accuracy in Warehouse inventory, clarity on product quality standards and safety of all Warehouse product and personnel.


Requirements:

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • Assists in directing all Receiving activities including delivery schedules, incoming product quality, managing PO’s, reconciliation of invoices, reporting or communicating claims, quality control audits and proper storage.
  • Assume responsibility of overall Warehouse operations in absence of the Warehouse Manager
  • Maintains a clear understanding of the flow of product through the Warehouse to the Kitchen, Grocery, and Food Hub customers and is able to articulate the priorities of each to the team
  • Provides supervision, support, and direction in such a way that promotes clear understanding, accountability and efficiency, and follows all policies, procedures, and laws
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and meet the requirements of the Swamp driving policy



SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS?

AGE/AVAILABILITY

  • Must be 21 years of age older
  • Minimum 2 years logistics or management experience required, familiarity with inventory preferred
