Overview

The Vice President, Media Planning will manage the planning and strategy process for a high profile CPG account. The VP is a leader who contributes to brand strategy, builds solid relationships with clients across all levels and functions, and can manage, lead, and develop their internal planning team while also playing an active โ€œhandsโ€‘onโ€ role in the deployment of strategic plans. The VP should also be fiscally accountable for ensuring proper budget management and identifying upside revenue potential for the agency.

Ideal candidates will have strong experience in performance media, a track record of excellent client relationship management and leading teams. Previous experience within the CPG vertical is preferred.

Responsibilities
  • Strong leadership presence and client management skills
  • Thought leadership and strategy development with a digital, performance-first mindset
  • Leads thinking to inspire innovative solutions, creativity, and a proactive approach
  • Digital mindset/fluency and an insatiable curiosity
  • Flexibility and agility to manage complex processes
  • Ensure the team delivers sound strategic plan recommendations based on a clear understanding of client objectives
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of client businesses with a focus on upstream initiatives
  • Expert command of Media Research resources, capabilities and limitations
  • Exemplify collaboration by building and maintaining productive relationships across all communications areas (internal teams and agency partners).
  • Ability to think beyond โ€œmediaโ€ as an active collaborator in the Integrated Marketing Communications process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; inclusive of presentation and storytelling skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize issues/projects for self and staff
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree preferred, preferably with a concentration in marketing, advertising, communications, business, sociology, or consumer insights
  • 10+ years of media planning, buying, and management experience in progressive levels of responsibility.
  • 7+ years of management experience with progressing responsibilities
  • Strong experience with performance media
  • Demonstrated business acumen and a track record of success in the media services profession.
  • Strategic thinker, seeing the bigger picture, with the ability to analyze everything and think critically when solving problems to come up with unconventional solutions.
  • Ability to establish and manage the P&L statement.
  • Previous leadership and team management.
  • Ability to build great relationships with clients, vendors, and reps.
  • History of negotiating to get the job done right and track record of success in media.

Compensation Range: USD $149,340.00 - USD $214,620.00/Annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. This role may also be eligible for bonus or incentive compensation. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a thirdโ€‘party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
