Job description

SUMMARY:

The Senior Vice President North Texas is the senior leader responsible for all revenue growth and construction operations across the McKinney and Fort Worth offices. This role owns the North Texas business development strategy, pipeline, and revenue forecasting, while also holding full P&L accountability for both regional offices. The SVP provides executive oversight to project management, field operations, staffing, scheduling, and client satisfaction, and serves as the primary relationship holder for key clients across both markets. Reporting to the EVP of Project Management & Preconstruction, this leader works in close coordination with the CEO, CFO, and Executive Leadership Team to align North Texas market activity with company-wide growth objectives and operational capacity.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum of 15 years of experience in the commercial construction industry, with at least 10 years in a senior leadership role overseeing both business development and construction operations. Multi-market or multi-office leadership experience required.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, Business, or Marketing, or other commensurate experience. Master's Degree preferred.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Leadership & Business Development:

  • Develop and execute the North Texas business development and revenue strategy across public and private construction, aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor the regional VPs of Client Relations for McKinney and Fort Worth to meet company growth targets.
  • Identify new market opportunities and trends; evaluate and prioritize target clients, pursuits, and Go/No-Go decisions.
  • Own pursuit strategies and oversee client interview preparation for key North Texas opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the SVP of Revenue Management to integrate North Texas pipeline into the company-wide revenue forecast.

Revenue Forecasting & Market Development:

  • Consolidate opportunity forecasts from North Texas VPs of Client Relations and project future-work intelligence from operations leadership.
  • Project potential clients, pursuits, and revenue by market (McKinney and Fort Worth).
  • Align forecasted demand with each office's operational capacity before committing to growth targets.
  • Translate regional forecasts into inputs for corporate revenue goals and executive/board reporting.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Serve as a senior Pogue ambassador and relationship holder for key North Texas clients throughout the business development and project delivery lifecycle.
  • Understand and document future work opportunities with existing clients; communicate to regional VP of Client Relations or SVP of Revenue Management.
  • Support senior project managers in client and board communications on project progress.
  • Serve as a relationship builder with subcontractors and maintain involvement in industry organizations.

Construction Operations Leadership:

  • Provide executive oversight for all project management, field operations, scheduling, staffing, and quality control across McKinney and Fort Worth.
  • Ensure consistency in project execution, quality standards, and operational procedures across both offices.
  • Determine manpower assignments for each project; set targets, objectives, and responsibilities for supervised staff.
  • Lead 30- and 60-Day Audit Meetings and PPR Meetings; monitor closeout goals (30/60/120).
  • Review contracts and ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled for delivery of a high-quality product.

Regional P&L & Financial Oversight:

  • Assume full P&L responsibility for both the McKinney and Fort Worth offices.
  • Lead PPR meetings to review project budgets and projected profitability across both markets.
  • Develop operational budgets, monitor financial performance, and identify and correct financial risks.
  • Collaborate with the CFO and SVP of Revenue Management to optimize profitability and align revenue forecasts with operational capacity.

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop direct reports across both offices; conduct performance reviews and set SMART goals with a clear path to promotion.
  • Make recommendations for merit raises and promotions; communicate wage, benefits, and HR documentation with the CFO and EVP of People Development.
  • Assist in the development of department-based training programs.
