Leidos’ Defense Logistics & Sustainment is seeking an Engineering Technician to join our team to support multiple weapons systems program. This position is designated as Mission Essential. Responsibilities include short-term CONUS and OCONUS deployments, assembly and integration, system sustainment activities, supporting test event activities with test setup, operations and documentation, and providing related training within the assigned area of operations.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the customer in overseeing and monitoring the maintenance and sustainment program. Responsibilities include scheduling and performing services, hardware configuration, hardware/software installation, and troubleshooting of hardware and software issues.

  • Collaborate closely with a highly skilled team of engineers and logisticians to ensure effective program execution.

  • Perform and contribute to Root Cause Analysis and advanced troubleshooting beyond the end-user level, including issues related to software, hardware, cabling, electrical systems, and network infrastructure by solving complex problems.

  • Recommend courses of action to customers, end-users, and internal team members based on experience and technical knowledge.

  • Demonstrate the ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.

  • Understand customer expectations to provide mission-focused support aligned with program values and objectives.

  • Assists in the development and maintenance of internal materials and process specifications through a working knowledge of industry standards.

  • Communicate with supervisors, managers and quality about issues affecting quality of productivity

  • Complies with all Company policies, procedures, and regulations

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

Basic Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience

  • Candidate must have at least five (5) years of experience

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.

  • Valid, or Ability to obtain and maintain unrestricted U.S. passport (Blue Book)

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.

  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience with hand tools including drills, saws, grinders, wrenches, and screw drivers.

  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience reading and interpreting drawings/documents such as operating instructions, work instructions, and blueprint data.

  • Ability to travel up to 50% as required.

  • Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL, area.

  • Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within independent and/or team environment to internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in an AS9100 Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environment is a plus

  • Previous work experience in the Aerospace and Defense manufacturing environment

  • Experience with U.S. Army Air and Missile Defense operations.

  • Familiarity with U.S. Army physical security standards, as well as COMSEC and CCI handling and usage practices.

  • Costpoint/Solumina Windchill experience

  • IPC WHMA-A-620 is a plus

  • Security + is a plus
