You will contribute to the development, qualification, and implementation of new product features, design enhancements, and cost reduction initiatives while partnering with cross-functional teams in manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and product management. In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Investigate and resolve field complaints, production issues, and product performance concerns through effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Lead sustaining engineering projects involving component redesigns, product improvements, supplier changes, validation activities, engineering changes, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Develop and implement design and process improvements that enhance product quality, reliability, manufacturability, and performance.
  • Plan, conduct, and oversee product testing and validation activities to verify the effectiveness of design improvements and engineering changes.
  • Maintain accurate engineering documentation, including product structures, drawings, bills of materials, and change records within PLM and ERP systems.
  • Review and approve part substitutions and production deviation requests to support business continuity and uninterrupted product supply.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, quality, and product management teams to implement engineering solutions and support continuous improvement initiatives.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree.
  • Three (3) or more years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design and development of mechanical and/or electromechanical products. Relevant co-op or internship experience may be considered.
  • Hands-on, solution-oriented approach with the ability to work comfortably with mechanical prototypes and test equipment.
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Experience with manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, forging, and forming.
  • Knowledge of metallurgical fundamentals, including steel properties and heat treatment processes.
  • Familiarity with Stage-Gate New Product Development processes.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards applicable to power and professional tools, such as IEC 62841.
  • Experience working with PLM and ERP systems in support of engineering change management.
