Title: Sustainable Solutions & Product Development Senior Engineer
Worksite Location: 4 Tesseneer Dr., Highland Heights, KY 41076
Duties: Report directly to the Product Development and Innovation Director for Power Distribution. Interact with the internal and external customers in order to understand and solve their unique challenges. Responsible for managing regional sustainability projects, reporting and communication. Responsible for managing sustainability project pipeline. Identify and lead supplier interactions with the intent to form joint development agreements related to sustainable solutions. Lead Power Distribution (PD) team sustainability projects. Contribute to marketing and communication around sustainable solutions. Represent the company in industry forums as a sustainability expert. Meet with customers to determine potential product development opportunities to improve overall business performance and portfolio. Work on long term company strategy in sustainability. Act as internal liaison between business units and functional teams to share sustainability best practices and standardization opportunities. Manage life cycle analysis (LCA) and environmental product declaration (EPD) processes. Lead regional sustainability and environmental reporting across business units. Gather sustainability requirements and monitoring of processes for compliance.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field. 4 years of manufacturing experience working in manufacturing and product development/design engineering. 3 years of experience in cost/benefit analysis including volume requirements for profitability of product designs. 3 years of experience working with and leading cross-functional groups. 3 years of experience in utilizing metallurgical knowledge of aluminum, copper and steel. 3 years of experience utilizing material knowledge of insulating and semi-conducting polymers. 3 years of experience in project management. 3 years of experience in wire and cable industry. 3 years of experience in sustainable product development. 3 years of experience with Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) and/or Environmental Product Declarations (EPD's). Travel approximately 10% - 30% of the time domestically and internationally to Prysmian locations, conferences, and supplier and customer locations.
