Position Summary

The GLC Summer Intern will assist in the managing of daily operations and functions for the Gender and LGBTQIA Center including managing visitors, working on projects related to departmental functions, and ensuring continued operations throughout the summer.

Minimum Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree required. Working toward or completion of master's degree in higher education administration, student personnel, or similar preferred. Knowledge of terminology and topics related to gender and LGBTQIA identities preferred.

Job Duties

  • Assists Director with the leadership and coordination for strategic planning initiatives within the department, including the development of institutional priorities, implementation planning, and ongoing assessment efforts. This role supports the planning for the execution and continuous improvement of programs such as ElonGROW and ElonGROW Plus, ensuring alignment with divisional and institutional goals. Responsibilities also include assisting with developing and maintaining annual assessment report to evaluate program effectiveness, inform decision-making, and support continuous improvement efforts. Additionally, the position oversees the creation and sustainability of appreciation and recognition initiatives designed to foster a positive and affirming community culture through consistent year-to-year practices.
