Job description

We are seeking an energetic, self-motivated Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) with a strong background in large-scale ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys and renewable energy development projects. This position supports Wind and Solar projects across the United States and requires experience in boundary analysis, title review, and high-volume survey production.
Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, field crew and project coordination, and a deep understanding of ALTA standards as they relate to utility-scale Wind and Solar developments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist RPLS in all phases of ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey projects for Wind and Solar developments nationwide
  • Perform comprehensive deed and title research, including Schedule B exception review and easement analysis
  • Conduct boundary analysis, tract breakdowns, and resolve title conflicts
  • Verify field crew layouts and perform field QA/QC for ALTA compliance
  • Draft ALTA plats, boundary exhibits, easement exhibits, and survey deliverables using AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Coordinate with title companies, project managers, and clients to ensure survey requirements are met
  • Support and manage field crews, providing technical guidance as needed
  • Lead office and field tasks, including travel for field work when required
  • Participate in project coordination, scheduling, and reporting
  • Train less experienced staff and review survey data for accuracy and ALTA compliance

Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Surveyor-in-Training (SIT) certification or ability to obtain within 1 year
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in land surveying, preferably focused on ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys and large-scale development projects
  • Demonstrated experience supporting utility-scale Wind and/or Solar energy projects preferred
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Strong understanding of ALTA/NSPS standards and Table A requirements
  • Field experience with GPS and Robotic Total Stations
  • Proficient in boundary analysis, legal description writing, deed research, and title commitment review
  • Experience working in both rural and large multi-tract project environments
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred
  • Experience with MicroStation is a plus
  • DOT experience preferred
  • Strong math, communication, and technical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects across multiple states and work independently or as part of a team
