Job description

SUMMARY

The Construction Survey Coordinator plays a key role in supporting our field survey crews and project managers by coordinating construction staking efforts and preparing accurate proposals and estimates. This hybrid role requires both strong organizational skills and technical knowledge to bridge the gap between the field, office, and client.


RESPONSIBILITIES

Construction Survey Coordination

  • Coordinate and schedule construction staking services for active land development projects
  • Communicate with field crews, project managers, engineers, and contractors to clarify scope, timing, and deliverables
  • Review construction plans, control data, and CAD files to prepare for field staking
  • Ensure proper documentation and QA/QC of staking deliverables
  • Track project progress and proactively manage deadlines, materials, and crew workloads

Estimating & Proposal Support

  • Prepare detailed and competitive estimates and proposals for construction staking services
  • Analyze construction documents, specifications, and plans to determine required services
  • Collaborate with survey managers and engineers to develop project scope and cost breakdowns
  • Maintain cost databases and historical pricing information
  • Assist in budget tracking and change order preparation throughout the project lifecycle


EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE

  • 4+ years of experience in land surveying, with at least 2 years in construction staking coordination
  • 2+ years of experience in estimating survey work or related civil engineering services.
  • Strong understanding of land development processes and construction documents
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and project management software
  • Familiarity with local regulations, survey standards, and construction practices
