The Surveying and Geomatics Business Unit is seeking a Survey Project Manager in Salt Lake City, UT.

As Survey Project Manager, you will manage a wide range of land survey projects from boundary and topography to ALTA and construction staking. You will provide clear direction to both field and office staff, perform quality control, lead technical deliverables, and maintain client relationships. This role requires a strong technical background and a desire to lead through collaboration, coaching, and accountability. 

What You'll DoKey Responsibilities:
  • Perform and review boundary analyses and topographic survey calculations 
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and scopes 
  • Lead quality control of survey deliverables including plats, ALTA surveys, design mapping, and construction staking calculations 
  • Prepare proposals and collaborate with technical teams to define project approach 
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and direction to field and office staff 
  • Coordinate with DEA's Geomatics Group and Delivery Leaders to align staff and project needs 
  • Ensure adherence to DEA's firmwide processes for contracting, project accounting, and quality standards 
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring responsiveness and delivery excellence 
  • Participate in cross-discipline collaboration with engineers, planners, and other professionals
What You BringRequired Qualifications:
  • Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) certification 
  • 8 or more years of experience in land surveying 
  • Experience managing projects and mentoring survey staff 
  • Strong client communication skills and attention to detail 
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and experience reviewing engineering plans 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in Utah 
  • Familiarity with state and county mapping standards 
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center

         The posted salary range represents the typical range for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local pay transparency laws. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
