This position is for a Survey Crew Chief in our Hobart, IN office
Responsibilities & Duties:
  • In charge of the daily activities of field Survey crew
  • In charge of daily crew operations such as construction staking, subdivision staking, boundary and topographic surveys
  • Prepares daily field notes on projects
  • Performs minor calculations in the field for staking
  • Performs daily data uploads and downloads
  • Maintains survey equipment and vehicles
  • Provide direction to survey technicians
  • Perform quality control
  • May require travel and overnight stay. Daily per diem provided for lodging and meals

Qualifications & Skills:
  • 5+ years of survey construction layout experience
  • Experience with Topcon equipment with magnet field software a plus
  • Ability to perform data collector calculations
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans
  • Ability to work independently
  • Organizational skills in order to plan, schedule work and complete assignments within established timeframes
  • Capable of working with a multidisciplinary team of planners, engineers, surveyors, architects and technicians
