Job description

  • Position: Surveillance Agent
    Department: Observation
    Reports to: Director of Observation
    Classification: Non-Exempt
    Status: Regular, Full Time / Government Essential

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the Director of Observation, the Surveillance Agent will conduct a full spectrum of observation support services including but not limited to ensuring the security and safety of guests, employees, cash and physical assets of the Colusa Casino & Bingo and its properties, by maintaining appropriate camera coverage.
The incumbent is expected to work in accordance with the mission, purpose, and values of the Colusa Indian Community Council.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Maintain a high level of confidentiality
2. Monitors camera coverage to ensure the integrity of gambling, banking, count room and cash handling procedures and take appropriate actions to protect funds and prevent further losses;
3. Review surveillance coverage on cases of patron/internal control disputes;
4. Immediately reports suspicious or unusual activities to Surveillance Supervisor/MOD /OIC and document information immediately;
5. Thorough knowledge of applicable company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduce in the future;
6. Ensures all equipment used by the Observation Department is functioning as intended;
7. Reviews camera coverage to ensure that the movement of all chips, cash and funds transferred within the Casino are under constant observation;
8. Ensures all information is shared with the next shift;
9. Maintains daily log sheets and completes incident reports to note all unusual customer and/or employee behavior, inadequate surveillance coverage, inoperable equipment or procedural errors made by employees;
10. Coordinates with security personnel to provide optimum security services
11. Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with fellow team members, and management;
12. May perform other duties commensurate with the functions and level of the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: High School Graduate or equivalent
-Experience: Prior work experience in gaming industry with an emphasis in table games, surveillance, investigative revenue audit, or cage operations
-Miscellaneous Licensing/Credentials:
-Must be eighteen (18) years of age
-Must possess a valid California Class C driver's license
-Must meet standards established for a gaming license
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES
- Is knowledgeable about modern methods of surveillance and security, first aid and fire safety procedures, detainment and arrest procedures, investigative techniques and handling evidence.
- Must be proficient performing maintenance on surveillance cameras and monitors, recording devices and hand held communication devices. All tools necessary for completing these tasks will be provided.
- Able to perform maintenance on all equipment used by the Observation Department;
- Ability to perform assigned job duties under constant time pressures.
- Strong PC knowledge.
- Ability to quickly add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to perform assigned duties in highly interruptive conditions.
- Able to produce organized and clear reports.
- Must maintain high confidentiality standards at all times. Will be required to sign a confidentiality statement upon acceptance of employment.
- Must be a dedicated worker with ability to report to work on a daily basis.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Requires frequent stand, stoop, bend and/or kneel in a smoke-filled, noisy environment.
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds.
- Work area is subject to variable temperatures.
