Job description

Access Control and Surveillance Installer / Service Technician

Responsibilities:

  • Install, program, troubleshoot, service, maintain and repair electronic security access control systems and video surveillance systems
  • Perform commissioning of access control and video surveillance systems to ensure proper operation
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with access control systems and devices including card readers, electronic locks, exit devices and ADA door operators
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with video surveillance systems and devices including analog cameras, IP cameras, network video recorders, network connectivity and wiring
  • Manage all on site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports
  • Manage and maintain your vehicle and tools to present a professional appearance and functionality
  • Responds and carries out to completion any troubleshooting and repairs to assigned customer systems
  • Ensures assigned installations are completed on-time and within budget
  • Practice all field safety requirements as well as use and function of all required personal protective equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Must have 3+ years of Security Technician / Installation experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics and operational product manuals
  • Knowledge of IP addressing and subnetting, switch, router, and firewall principles
  • Certifications / experience with CCure 9000 and S2 Security access control systems is a plus but not mandatory
  • Certifications / experience with Milestone XProtect, Exacq Vision, Axis cameras is a plus but not mandatory
  • Minimum of 3 years previous experience security installation, maintenance, or other related fields
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools
  • Ability to handle physical workload
  • Understand building and electrical plans in conjunction with system installations
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic
  • Strong troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must have a clean state DMV license and a clean criminal record
  • Must be able to pass a drug and background check
