Job Description
The Surgical Technician provides patient care of a technical nature, responsible for ensuring the operating room is supplied with appropriate equipment and instrumentation necessary for specific surgical procedures. The technician maintains the sterility of the surgical field and anticipates the needs of the surgeons during operations.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments and equipment before surgery.
  • Assist in maintaining the sterile environment throughout the procedure.
  • Pass instruments to surgeons in a timely manner during surgeries.
  • Perform tasks such as holding retractors, applying electrocautery, and connecting drains.
  • Caring for instrumentation and preparing for subsequent cases after each procedure.
  • Facilitate room turnover to ensure efficient workflow within the surgical team.
Required Experience / Certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in the Operating Room, Trauma settings required.
  • Current BLS certification by the American Heart Association standards required.
  • No licensed required.
