Job Title: Surgical Supply & Inventory Coordinator (Contract)
Location: Tulsa, OK
Job Type: Contract


Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Surgical Supply & Inventory Coordinator to support Surgical Services operations in Tulsa, OK. This contract role is responsible for ensuring surgical and anesthesia supplies are accurately stocked, maintained, and delivered in a timely and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with Surgery, Instrumentation Systems, and Sterilization & Distribution (S&D) personnel to request, receive, locate, and deliver supplies promptly and courteously.

  • Inform staff of any breaks in aseptic technique related to packaging and handling.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of all shift responsibilities and workflow processes.

  • Operate carousel systems, handheld devices, personal computers, and other inventory management tools.

  • Utilize handheld devices to order, restock, and maintain surgery and anesthesia inventory.

  • Maintain prescribed inventory PAR levels on carousels and supply carts.

  • Monitor the case cart/supply process for each surgical case.

  • Check case carts against preference cards to ensure completeness.

  • Identify and order missing items; place them on the cart or notify the circulator/clinical supervisor prior to the start of procedures.

  • Clean supply carts and bins according to the monthly assignment schedule.

  • Coordinate the return of unused supplies and instrumentation.

  • Remove unused or overstocked items from carts and alcoves in a timely manner.

  • Return unused supplies to proper storage locations according to PAR levels.

  • Rotate stock when returning or replenishing inventory.

  • Support unit and hospital goals through performance improvement (PI) initiatives and educational activities.

  • Attend mandatory in-services and meet unit educational standards.

  • Adjust behaviors and performance to comply with care standards and unit requirements.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the Surgical Services Resources Manager.
     

    Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare supply chain, surgical services, or inventory management preferred.

  • Familiarity with sterile processing and aseptic techniques is a plus.

  • Ability to operate inventory management systems and handheld technology.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
