Location: Mercy Hospital Southeast, Cape Girardeau, MO

Department: Operating Room

Status: Full-Time - 40 hours/weekShift: 8 Hour Days (Mon-Fri) May include additional call after hours/weekends Qualifications:
  • Experience: Previous CNA, PCA, PCT, or scrub experience preferred.

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Successful completion of medical terminology course or enrollment in surgical tech program preferred.

  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

  • Other:Must understand English both written and spoken, must be able to safely and successfully perform job-related functions, with or without reasonable accommodation required by federal, state, or local law. Physical requirements/demands:

    • Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.

    • Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift.

    • Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

  • Important note: Candidates for this role must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time, be comfortable wearing surgical PPE including mask, gown, etc. in order to hold retractors, operate laparoscopic cameras, and other surgical assisting duties as assigned while being scrubbed into surgical cases.
