Job description

Community Hospital is hiring a PRN Surgical Orderly!

We’re offering an exciting opportunity to work alongside a dedicated, compassionate team – where you are valued just as much as the patients we serve. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, performs delegated duties to assist in the surgical services area. Performs a variety of tasks including cleaning of operating rooms, stocking and disposal of linen and supply materials to ensure assigned areas are kept clean and adequately supplied. Always works as a team member within the entire facility. Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

  • Performs duties including sweeping, mopping and dusting within the operating suite in an efficient manner.
  • Assists in OR room turnovers.
  • Assists materials manager in ordering and stocking supplies.
  • Assists central sterile processing
  • Satisfactorily demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties outlined in this job description as well as continually demonstrates competency in performing the job duties.

**Qualifications: **

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Previous health care experience preferred.
  • Previous experience and knowledge in cleaning operating room environments
  • AHA BLS required within 90 days of hire, if not currently certified.
