Join Our Surgical Team as a Sterile Processing Technician!

Our established multi-specialty Ophthalmology group is seeking a meticulous and experienced Sterile Processing Technician to join our surgical team. You will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of our surgical instruments and ensuring a safe and sterile environment for our patients

Your Impact:

  • Instrument Sterilization & Decontamination: Perform decontamination, cleaning, and sterilization procedures according to MIFU.
  • Surgical Suite Preparation: Assist in preparing the surgical center for daily schedules and between cases.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain adequate inventory of SPD supplies and report shortages.
  • Sterile Environment Maintenance: Ensure a sterile environment throughout all procedures.
  • Equipment & Supply Handling: Open sterile packs, instruments, and supplies, and assist in setting up surgical cases.
  • Instrument & Equipment Maintenance: Report and troubleshoot issues with instruments, sterilizers, and other equipment. implement MIFUs for all instruments and equipment.
  • Preference Card Verification: Verify surgeon's preference cards are current and accessible.
  • Infection Control Compliance: Maintain all aspects of infection control protocols.
  • Quality Improvement: Actively participate in identifying quality improvement and infection control issues.


What You'll Bring/Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a sterile processing department as a technician.
  • Knowledge of the sterilization process, aseptic technique, and instrument care.
  • Ability to follow manufacturer’s instructions for use (MIFU).
  • Basic Life Support certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent
