Position Summary

The Surgical Scrub Technician is a certified staff member who works under the direct supervision of the registered nursing staff, Clinical Coordinator, and the Surgical Services Director to act as a primary scrub person who handles the surgical instruments, supplies and necessary equipment during surgical procedures. Incumbent shall possess the ability to anticipate the needs of the surgeon and has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure safe, quality patient care during the operative procedure. May precept new technicians and students to the department.

Qualifications
  • Must be a Graduate of Surgical Technology, military service training program or in-house surgical training program.
  • Minimum two years operating room experience or completion of surgery orientation program.
  • Operating Room Technician National Certification and American Heart Association BCLS certificate.
