The program typically includes both classroom instruction and practical experience in a healthcare setting. Upon completion, apprentices may be eligible for certification and full-time employment in hospitals or surgical centers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Surgery Tech Apprenticeship position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Surgery Tech Apprentice, you need a solid understanding of sterile techniques, anatomy, and surgical instrumentation, typically obtained through a high school diploma or GED and enrollment in a surgical technology program. Familiarity with surgical equipment, sterilization procedures, and electronic health record (EHR) systems is often required. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure are important soft skills for this role. These qualities are critical to maintaining patient safety and supporting surgical teams efficiently in high-stakes environments.
